Robert Lee Jones, Sr.

Life of Robert Jones, Sr Robert Lee Jones, Sr was born on December 9, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Mose and Arma Ruth Jones. He was baptized at an early age at the Mt. Sinai B. C. in Poole, Louisiana under the leadership of the late Rev. Earnest Jefferson. Robert was known by many names such as Rye Lee, Luke, Luke-a-roo, Pops, and Dad. He loved his family and enjoyed his life to the fullest. He was a minister, truck driver, Caddo Parish Sheriff officer, and frac worker in the oilfield. He attended Green Oaks High School where he was a star athlete on the basketball team. He loved to travel and one of his favorite foods was jelly cake. Robert married Betty Lue Jackson on May 22, 1993. No children were born to this union. Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Arma Ruth Jones and father, Mose Jones. Robert leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 31years, Betty Jones; three (3) children - two (2) sons, Robert Jones Jr of Atlanta, GA; LeJarried Johnson (Latara) of Shreveport, LA; one (1) daughter - Faith Randle (Ray) of Greenwood, LA; three stepchildren: one (1) stepson, Calvin Jackson of Jacksonville, TX; two (2) stepdaughters, LaTosha Jackson and Monikas Henry, both of Baltimore, MD; seven(7) grandchildren; four (4) stepgrandchildren; two (2) sisters - Mary Marston (Robert), Lillie Love; four (4) brothers - Willie Jones (Rosemary), Bobby Jones(Beverly), Jimmy Jones (Kathleen), Mack Jones (Denita) all of Shreveport, LA; three (3) aunts - Earlene James, Sarah Hogan (Willie), Betty West, all of Bossier City, LA; one (1)uncle, David Jones Sr of Shreveport, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Service will be held Saturday September 11, 2021 at 11AM at Mt. Sinai B.C. Cemetery 13458 Highway 71 Elm Grove, Louisiana
