Phyllis Barnes Lloyd

On December 22, 2023, Phyllis Barnes Lloyd of Catonsville passed peacefully at Angel’s Touch Care Assisted Living in West Friendship, Maryland. At 95, Phyllis was the oldest resident at Angel’s Touch. She was born on September 5, 1928, in Lisbon, Maryland. She is survived by her sister-in-law Jeanne Keller and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Carroll L. Lloyd; parents Edgar J. Barnes and Ida R. Barnes; sisters Ida Mae Buck and Mary Yeatts; and brother Edgar J. Barnes, Jr.

Phyllis graduated from Hood College. She taught elementary students for Baltimore County Public Schools for many years. She was an active member of the Catonsville United Methodist Church. Phyllis and Carroll enjoyed vacationing in their Airstream camper with their beloved dogs, J.R. and Wesley. Phyllis cherished her and Carroll’s yearly trip to Florida and loved telling stories about their camping adventures. Phyllis was also an avid bridge player. She always looked forward to her weekly bridge club meetings and spending time with her dear friends.

The family will hold a private memorial in the coming weeks.
