On Monday, October 14, 2024, Mary Virginia Griffith (O'Connell) Bowen, of Baltimore, MD loving & cherished Mother of Meghan Virginia Bowen and her husband Scott Myers; dutiful Wife of the late Steven Bowen; beloved Daughter of the late William and Mary Virginia O'Connell; 

caring sister of Laurence Bartlett O'Connell and his wife Joanne and the late Rose Marie O'Connell; dear aunt of Christopher Sean O'Connell; dear cousin to many, especially Patty Macgill; sweet Godmother of the late James Michael Laird; lifelong friend & IND sister of Mary Ellen Laird; and Second Mom to Andrew McCollough and Mara Herning. 

Best known as "Ginny," she's also survived by friends & coworkers from her 40 years as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Towson, MD and as an active parent at the Institute of Notre Dame (IND) where she, her daughter and 9 total family members attended. Ginny was a truly devoted Mother, our Mary Poppins, a Girl Scout leader, cheered at school Basketball & CAA Softball games, St. Agnes Homeroom Mom & Volunteer School Nurse & loved seeing her daughter play guitar. She wrote beautiful cards, sang: You are My Sunshine & Let's Go Fly a Kite & loved Dancing to The Beatles. We Love You More Mom! Goodnight & Godbless!
