Marjorie Ann Wampler of Pasadena, MD, died peacefully at home with family at the age of 74 on January 18, 2024.
She was the loving daughter of the late Samuel and Margueritte Wampler.
She is survived by her beloved “little” sister, Sandra Sehman and husband Chuck, her devoted niece Amy, her husband Doug and daughter Charlie, her devoted nephews Chuck, his wife Janet and daughters Cora and Margo, and Alex and his wife Tawna.
“Margie” was born November 30, 1949 in Washington, D.C. She grew up in Landover Hills, MD, and graduated from DuVal High School. She began her career at GSA in 1967. In 1973 she moved to Miami, FL where she worked for the IRS and at a private law firm. Margie returned to MD in 1988 and worked at the House of Representatives. In 1993 she married and worked for many years at her former husband Steve’s family business.
Margie volunteered and later worked at Hospice of the Chesapeake until retirement. She also participated with her two dogs in the Pets on Wheels program.
Margie enjoyed making beaded flowers and jewelry, oil painting, gardening, cheering on the Washington Nationals, and spoiling her dogs and cat over the years. She loved being with her family and friends to whom she brought much joy.
Her family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care from Gilchrist Hospice of Howard County.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Richie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122 or to SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403.
