In Loving Memory of Marian Spruill

Marian Spruill, beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend to many, passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2024 at 95 years age. She was born on September 13th, 1928 in Rockingham County, Virginia to Ralph Dutrow and Pauline Gilmer.

Throughout her life, Marian touched the hearts of those around her with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. She was known for her love of family and travel, which left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marian lived a life of compassion, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. She cherished her family and friends above all else, finding joy in simple moments and creating lasting memories with those she held dear.

She will be dearly missed by her many family members, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband Elvin, brother Robert, step-sister Lauren and daughter Carolyn. She is survived by siblings Mary, John, and Joseph; step-sister Jean, three children, Donna, John, and Robert and four grandchildren: George, James, James Lee and Katie and eight great grandchildren: Olivia, Madeline, Lillian, Jay, Conner, Jayden, Mason and Alena as well as, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces and extended family in Maryland, Virginia and beyond.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Camp Springs (6936 Allentown Road) on Friday the 12th of April at 12:00 PM to honor and celebrate the life of Marian. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Marian's memory. A grave site service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland MD on Monday the 15th of April at 12:00 PM.

Though Marian may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to live on through the love and memories she shared with us all. May she rest in peace, knowing her legacy will endure for generations to come.
