Lisa Gayle Finnegan

August 28, 1963 — October 21, 2022

Lisa Gayle Finnegan, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Lisa was born in Baltimore, MD on August 28, 1963. She was the most kind, caring, loving and generous person who enjoyed doing anything and everything that involved her family. The best part of her life was being a Mother and a Mimi. Two of Lisa’s most exciting moments was becoming a mother in May of 1991 and a grandmother in April of 2016.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Diana Landergren; son, Shane Finnegan; daughter-in-law, Kirsten Finnegan; cherished grandchildren, Brielle and Carson Finnegan; niece, Stephanie Garee and nephew, Jim Ittner. She is preceded in death by her husband Timothy Finnegan, father Henry Landergren, and her sister Regina Hamilton. All who knew her were grateful for the time she was with us and she will be missed dearly. No amount of time spent with her would have ever been enough.

After the passing of Lisa’s husband and Shane’s father, Tim, Lisa and Shane created a bond that every mother hopes to have with their adult son. They both always expressed how all they had was each other and together they could get through anything. They worked multiple jobs for years to keep their family home and were able to save it from foreclosure. Lisa supported Shane through all of his life and career choices, but always ingrained in him- right is right and wrong is wrong. When Shane met Kirsten, Lisa knew instantly that they were meant for each other. Lisa and Kirsten hit it off better than any other

mother/daughter-in-law relationship and Kirsten always filled a void that Shane and his busy career did not allow for. Every day for the last 8 ½ years has started with a group text from Lisa telling Shane and Kirsten to have a great day and that she loved them more than they know.

After Lisa’s mother suffered from a stroke, Lisa moved in with Diana to provide 24hour companionship and care. They both equally enjoyed their outings that they got to have together and the memories that they have made. Lisa loved nothing more than being able to care for her mom the way that she cared for Lisa growing up.

Lisa’s life was full of hardships, and she handled each one with grace and positivity. In December of 2018, Lisa made the decision to get sober and from that day forward she never had another drink of alcohol. This was a huge accomplishment and one that everyone was proud of her for every single day.

Lisa loved to go on vacation with her family, read to and spend time with her grandchildren, shop the Old Navy flip flop sale and she could never pass up a deal at Bath and Body Works. The smallest things made her happy and she was very easy to please. Within minutes of entering the house, the first thing she did was go to her bedroom and change out of her dinner clothes and into the comfiest nightgown she could get her hands on. Her life truly was a living example of one of her favorite bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God forgave you in Christ.”

The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with the service being 7-8pm at MacNabb Funeral Home in Catonsville, MD. Located at 301 Frederick Rd, Catonsville, MD 21228.
