Joseph Anthony Reed, 65, of Catonsville passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 15 ,2025 surrounded by his family at the Dove House in Westminster. Born Saturday, May 23, 1959, in Maryland, he was the son of Walter Reed and the late Louise Reed, nee Promutico; devoted father of his daughter Brandi Marie Fritz and her husband David Anthony; loving grandfather to Isabella and Sophia; and a wonderful friend to his former spouse Gail Caton.
Mr. Reed worked as a Longshoreman at the Port of Baltimore for many years as member Local 333. He was a veteran who served our country in the Army from 1978-1979 and was discharged honorably. A devoted family man, he absolutely enjoyed spending time with his favorite daughter and her loving husband and his precious granddaughters. He was a longtime congregate of St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Baltimore. In his spare time, he enjoyed being at the Arbutus VFW, the Caton Tavern, playing golf, for which he taught his daughter to play the game, playing his guitar, and listening to Blues music. He went to the Blues Festival at Sandy Point State Park every year for his birthday. One of the last concerts he went to was Rod Stewart and he got to enjoy it with Brandi, David, and his close friend Danny. He was well known for saying, “Fuhgeddaboudit”. He will be missed by all of his good friends in the 21228.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the MacNABB FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 301 Frederick Road, Catonsville (21228) where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Reed’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
