Gwylaine Sherrill Mcelroy

Gwylaine (Gwen) S. McElroy (Kuemmel) of Catonsville, MD passed away on May 28, 2024 at the age of 75. She is survived by her children Tracie McElroy and Arthur (Chip) Joseph McElroy, Jr., his wife Heather McElroy and three grandchildren, Faith Deily, Jakob McElroy and Sullivan McElroy. In addition to immediate family, she is survived by her siblings Barry Kuemmel, Myrna Lohrman, Dene Goldstein, Goldie Piel, Dorrie Krippner and Claude Marsh, Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews.

Gwen was also known by many as “Shorty”. She was an athlete who enjoyed sharing her love of sports with others as a teacher, coach, and fan. An avid Orioles fan, she enjoyed traveling to ballparks around the country to cheer on the team. When not watching or attending a game, Gwen could be found cuddling one of the many dogs she had taken in over the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to BARCS Animal Rescue and Care Shelter.
