Fannie Doster

On Monday afternoon, March 11, 2024, Ms. Fannie Catherine “Kitty” Doster, age 97, surrendered to the inevitable outcome of a long life well-lived and passed away at Oak Crest Senior Living in Parkville, MD. She is survived by her daughters Judith Lehnhoff Judy and Martha Doster, her sons Leroy Doster and Donald Lehnhoff, 5 amazing grandkids, 6 remarkable great-grandkids, and a host of younger friends.

Kitty was born in Charlottesville, VA and moved to Baltimore before her 1st birthday. She lived first on Bonaparte Ave. in the city, then to Lavender Ave. in Parkville. She graduated from Towson High School in 1944, married a sailor near the end of the war, taught homebound elementary school kids, and worked as a bookkeeper and real estate accountant for companies and law firms. She raised 2 children, then loved two more with her 2nd marriage and made it all work. She always loved to dance from a very young age, and she loved to sing barbershop. She sang bass with the Dundalk Sweet Adelines for over 50 years, and with various barbershop quartets that she helped organize.

Kitty’s ashes will be interred in a graveside service on April 13 at 1:00 PM, Parkwood Cemetery in Parkville, followed by a celebration of life with her favorite things: good food, good music, good friends, and loving family.
