Edward P. Herpel, Jr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edward P. Herpel, Jr. on August 12, 2020 with his family by his side at the age of 93. Edward is the beloved husband of Mary B. Ford and the late Marcella Fink Herpel. Devoted father to Edward P. Herpel, III and his wife Susan, Marcella M. Campbell and her late husband Ralph, Gerard A. Herpel, Thomas N. Herpel and his wife Lori and Marianna L. Herpel. Loving grandfather of Jessica K., Emily S. and her husband Ed, Thomas C. and his wife Jackie, Kathryn C. and her fiancé Tom, Edward H., Grace H. and her fiancé A.J., William H. and his fiancé Maggie, Greg H. and his wife Jessica, Andrew H. and Timothy H. Proud great-grandfather of Alexandra, Meaghan, Caleb & Owen. Dear brother of the late Stella M. Beutgen. Edward was in the U.S. Army Air Corp in WWII (it became the Air Force after WWII), a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered many hours at Meals-on-Wheels and the Franciscan Center. He worked at WBAL-TV where he started in the early years of television as a cameraman and technician. He retired after almost 40 years at the station. A private service will be held for family members on Tuesday August 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM. The service will be available via live stream at ssparish.org. You will need Facebook live.
