David passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday January 29th, 2023.
Son of David Williams Weaver and Bertha Borland Weaver, David was born in Palmerton, PA lived at various times in both Pennsylvania (Philadelphia area) and Maryland (Baltimore).
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Barbara, and three of his children (David, Mark, and James) from his previous marriage to Patricia (1937-2012), three stepchildren (Michael Hoover, Laura (Hoover) Hand, and Amy (Hoover) Cabaniss), his brother Robert, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and all of their extended families. He is now at rest and enjoying the company of his parents, his daughter Katherine "Kitty" (1959-2010) and brother John (1937-2021).
David was an avid tennis player - a sport he played most of his life, loved to sing and act, go ballroom dancing, and wholeheartedly enjoyed discussing politics, culture, and all things technical.
David attended public schools in Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe), PA, and Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Princeton University in 1957 with a degree in mechanical engineering. David served in the in the U.S. Navy from 1957 until 1960, teaching “Theoretical and Practical Damage Control” at the Philadelphia Navy Base. He worked as an engineer for Philco-Ford, NARCO-Air Shields, Moore Products, Inc., and Teleflex (all in Pennsylvania) and in Baltimore for Chamberlain MRC, J. L. Wickham Corporation, and Belfort instruments, Inc. In 2008 he retired from General Physics Corp. having worked for eight years at the Chemical Demilitarization Training Center (CDTF) in Edgewood, MD., working with machinery which disassembled and disposed of deadly chemical weapons. And during retirement, he was a volunteer as an Information Desk Specialist at the Aquarium in Baltimore.
