Charles Edwin Parry

On September 7, 2022, Charles Edwin Parry, age 87, the youngest of 7 children. Lovingly known as Big C, Uncle Buck and Papa was born in Washington, DC. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Phyllis Parry, devoted father of Michael Joseph Parry and wife Teresa Parry, Barbara Elizabeth Bates and husband Kenneth Bates and John Charles Parry and wife Kristen Parry; loving grandfather of Ryan Bates and wife Caroline Bates, Ashley Bates, Joseph Parry, Catie Parry and Sonia Parry. Mr. Parry was predeceased by siblings Leo Parry, Francis Parry, Author Parry, Richard Parry, Mary Louise Parry, and Ann Parry. Charles served in the Air Force and retired after 38 years working for the National Security Agency. He was a recipient of the Meritorious Civilian Service Award; also volunteered for the homeless in Baltimore for 30 years preparing meals and delivering donated food. He was also an avid Redskins fan, dog lover and an accomplished athlete. He spread kindness and humor to all who he encountered.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 12, 2022, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Our Lady of the Angels Chapel, Charlestown Retirement Community, a Funeral Mass will begin at 11am. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to littlesistersofthepoorbaltimore.org or to St. Jude Hospital.
